Mindset is everything in life, if you don’t have the right mindset it will feel like the world is against you. That’s why focusing on the great things in life will lift you out of a negative rut.

Gratitude is an amazing practice but it can be one that we forget to do, especially when life feels tough.

When we have challenges or obstacles in our way, it can feel impossible to see all the good in our lives.  

How can we practice gratitude when life sucks?!  

When it feels like the Universe DOES NOT have your back and you feel like you have more negative things happening to you that positive!

Let’s start with the challenges…….

Love Your Challenges

This is a game-changer right here!!

When challenges come up, if you see them as a negative thing you will always feel knocked down.

Challenges are wins in life, they help us grow and to become better people. If we never experienced challenges we would stay stuck and that’s not living!!

So when challenges come up, be grateful for them, see them as positive things thing that will make you a better person!

Our biggest growth comes from our biggest challenges!

For every challenge that comes into your life, think about what growth you will gain from this? What is this challenge trying to teach you? What do you need to learn?

Sometimes it’s hard when you are in the thick of it but try thinking of where you will be in a years’ time after getting through this.

It will make you a better and stronger person and that right there is what you are thankful for!!

Write Down All The Great Things

Writing down all the great things that are happening, including your challenges makes it more powerful.

It helps keep your focus on the great things in life.

It reinforces that great things do happen.

Make this a daily practice, keep a document in your phone or have a special journal where you can write them in.

Think of at least 3 great things a day and put a reminder in your phone so this becomes a habit!!

Up Your Game

They say to write down 3 great things you’re grateful for but I find the magic happens when you notice and write them down in the moment!

I have a document on my phone where I keep all my victories and wins. I don’t just write a few down at the end of the day, I write them in when they happen!

This keeps my momentum up throughout the day and it means I don’t forget ANYTHING!!

We all know how hard it is to remember the great things that happen to us if we aren’t focusing on them.

Therefore recording them as they happen, means we don’t get to the end of the day and struggle to think of anything great that happened.

Look back at your list before you go to bed and ingrain that grateful feeling for the amazing things that are happening.

So what are you waiting for???

Create a new note on your phone or get a new journal and start writing all the great things about your life.

Even if you start small, you will soon start to see more and more things to be grateful for!!

This is life changing!!

    1) My daughter gave me a huge hug out of nowhere.
    2) My little guy was cracking us all up playing outside with the hose this evening.
    3) I finally found a bathing suit that fit for vacation next week- phew!

  2. I’m in the middle of a pretty tough PPD flare right now, so this was the reminder and refresh I needed to keep focusing on the positive while I’m waiting for my meds to adjust, etc. Glad I came across it when I did!
