I love reading and I love self-help!! So it’s no surprise that I’ve read a lot of self-help books!! So I thought I’d share some of the best self-help books that I’ve read so far.
These books have really helped me transform my life!!

The Best Self-Help Books
You Can Heal Your Life
I’m going to start with the book that changed everything for me. This was the first self-help book that made me realise I could change my thoughts. Before I read this book, my thoughts were all negative.
I’m not even exaggerating here!!
This book started my self-help and Law of Attraction journey.
This book is all about changing the way you think by using affirmations. It’s a great starting point if you have never used affirmations. Louise walks you through a typical session that she would normally have with her clients.
The first section is all about discovering where our beliefs come from. The second section is divided up into different life areas, so you can go deeper into the beliefs you have around these.
There is also a list at the back of the book that goes through dis-eases and gives you new thought patterns for each. This is taken from her book You Can Heal Your Body.
You can change the way you think by using affirmations. We don’t have to hold onto the old belief patterns we learned as a child.

The Four Agreements
OMG, I love this book! I first read it at the beginning of the year, when I was going through a difficult time in my life.
I’ll be honest, I read it like 50 times!!
It’s a really short read so you can read it in a day or 2.
It really helped me shift my perspective on life, especially when it comes to other peoples behaviours. It teaches us that everything that others do is about them, not us!!
This book is all about the agreements we picked up as a child and how we only need to focus on four.
It’s taken from the Toltec practices, a society that was formed in Southern Mexico.
The Four Agreements are:
- Be impeccable with your word
- Don’t take anything seriously
- Don’t make assumptions
- Always do your best
This book really helped me to stop taking things personally. This was something I did a lot and knowing that nothing people do is because of me changed the way I handled things.
The Secret Language of Feelings
I love this book! It’s helped me a lot to uncover what my feelings actually mean!
If you find yourself over-reacting a lot, then this book is for you!!
When we distract ourselves from our feelings, instead of listening to them, we are only getting a short term relief from them.
If we don’t address the need behind the feeling, we can start to feel frustrated or even depressed.
This book will help you find out the need behind each feeling. For example, feeling angry is the need for fairness.
So when we know the need behind each feeling, we can start to take action to solve this.
There are 3 steps to working through your feelings:
- Identify the feeling
- Identify the cause of the feeling
- Identify a satisfying response
By working through my feelings, I have become a calmer person. I now know what my feelings are telling me and how to work through them.
The Tapping Solution
I love EFT and this was one of the first books I read about it. I’m now a certified EFT practitioner and it has completely changed my life.
I believe EFT should be taught in schools, it’s that powerful!!
I use EFT every day on myself, with my clients and I’m teaching my children to use it too.
It’s the fastest way I know to clear limiting beliefs, reduce stress and calm the body and mind.
This book is a great introduction to EFT. It explains how to use EFT and how to uncover what you need to tap on.
It starts with uncovering what you need to tap on, using the tapping tree.
The main things to tap on are:
- Limiting beliefs
Not only does tapping help relieve stress, but it can also be used for many other things.
Such as pain and phobias.
EFT can be used to improve every area of your life. By tapping on our past and limiting beliefs, we are clearing our energy to create a better life.
The Medical Medium
I’m totally obsessed with the Medical Medium. When I first started reading it, I was a bit sceptical about a spirit guide giving some guy health advice.
However, everything he writes about our health makes sense and with over 2 million followers, it’s fair to say he knows his stuff!!
This truly is one of the best self-help books for your health!!
The medical medium talks about how viruses life in our bodies and causes a lot of problems with our health.
He also talks about how we have heavy metals in our bodies too.
In this book, he explains the damage these viruses and heavy metals do to us.
He also tells us how to heal ourselves by making changes to our diets.
Anyone can heal their health, even if the doctors have no idea what’s wrong with you!!
Using the information in this book, I have started my journey to healing my IBS.
I now drink celery juice every day and it’s made a huge difference to my health.
Get Rich Lucky Bitch
Denise is your go-to women for clearing your money blocks!! I’ve followed Denise for about 6 years now and she is awesome!!
This book is all about using the Law of Attraction to manifest more money in your life.
She shares some great ways to clear your money blocks and live a richer life.
You can be an amazing money manifest and make your own luck!!
You don’t have to win the lottery to become rich, you just need to work on your money blocks!
I discovered this book when I was trying to get pregnant with my second child.
I had been trying for months and my period was all over the place. After following the advice in this book, I got pregnant a few months after!!
Alisa talks about all the things that affect our hormones. She was diagnosed with PCOS as a teenager and her doctor wanted to put her on the pill to fix it.
This set off her journey to find a natural way to heal her hormones and she has helped thousands of women heal too.
This book goes into depth about the different phases of your cycle and even what food to eat in each phase.
Everything we put in our bodies affects our hormones.
Not only the foods we eat but also anything we put on our skin!!
Forgiveness: 21 Days to Forgive Everyone for Everything
This is an amazing book if you want to dive deep into forgiveness. I love doing forgiveness work, it always makes me feel lighter afterwards.
Iyanla guides you through her forgiveness process. She uses prayer, meditation and EFT in this process.
This is a 21-day program and it starts with forgiving yourself.
This forgiveness work can help clear old judgements and leads us to acceptance.
When we don’t forgive, we hold onto resentments and project them onto other people in our lives.
Ask and It Is Given
This is my favourite book about the Law of Attraction!! This book is all about feeling good now, which I love!!
The first part of the book teaches you about the Law of Attraction, the emotional scale and how feeling good it the ultimate way to manifest your desires.
The second part of the book has 22 processes that will help you raise your vibration and manifest your dreams.
We are all made out of energy and our feelings have different energy vibrations. In order to manifest what we want, we need to become a vibrational match.
Gabby is such an inspiration. She overcame her addiction to cocaine and became a spiritual teacher. I love her work and I have all her books!!
This book is jam-packed with spiritual tools to help you live a calmer life. There are lots of meditations, ways to change the way you think and even EFT!!
The great thing about this book is you can randomly pick a page each day and see what technique or message you get.
I discovered Kundalini Yoga through this book. The meditations are great and they have definitely helped me reduce my stress and become a happier person!!
