There is so much yoga online these days but how do you know what is best for you?? I put together a list of my favourite yoga resources for you to try!
Yoga has helped me deal with my trauma and heal my mental health. There have been many times where I have cried my eyes out on the Yoga mat.
I believe we hold everything in our bodies, from trauma to stress to memories of the past. Trauma can get stuck in our bodies and this can actually manifest illness and pain.
By moving and stretching our bodies with our breath, we can release the tension and help release it.
Doing yoga can also help you feel comfortable in your own skin. It helps us connect to our bodies through movement and breath.
This helps us be in our bodies more when I’ve experienced trauma or stress and when I had flashbacks, I often feel dissociated from my body. Increasing the number of practices that bring you back into your body is extremely powerful for healing trauma.
Yoga is also great for helping us be in the moment. The more we live in the present, the happier we will feel.
I try to do yoga everyday and here are my favourite online yoga resources.

Amazing Online Yoga Resources
Online Yoga Apps
Yogadownload have a huge library of classes and the great thing is, they have an app, so you can do them anywhere!!
You can either buy classes or you can join their monthly membership program. At the minute you can sign up from as little as $10 a month!!
I love their Healing 101 program, which has 6 amazing videos. I especially like the Yoga for Loss class.
Other classes include:
- Yoga for Anxious Moments
- Yoga for Navigating Illness
- Yoga for Dark, Dark Days
- Criss Cross Healing
- Mindful Motion for Healing
When I first used this app, I was amazed at how many options you have. It’s totally customisable, you can choose how long you want the practice to be, the type of yoga, level, if you want to boost the practice and how long you want to be in savasana!!
I have no idea how they do this but you come out with a customised video with all your choices!!
I like to use this app when I’m trying to do a quick practice (mostly when my son is eating breakfast) as I can have my phone next to my yoga mat.
At the moment their membership is free until May 1 2020 (then £7.99 after that). You can also download their other apps, Yoga for Beginners, Barre, HIIT, Prenatal Yoga and 7-minute workout for no extra cost!!
Youtube Yoga Channels
Yoga With Adriene
I love Adriene so much!! She has hundreds of videos that you can choose from, ranging from around 10 to 40 minutes.
I love her gentle style and she has such a soothing voice.
My goal in life is to feel good, so her manta of “find what feels good” totally resonates with me.
She also has a great sense of humour, which brings a sense of lightness to your practice!!
Kundalini Online Yoga
I love Kundalini yoga and I first started practising it 3 years ago, after my son was born. It was after I had been diagnosed with PTSD and it helped a lot with my symptoms.
Kundalini Lounge was the first Kundaini challenge I followed and I did her 40 Day Weigh loss Challenge and I was hooked!! Unfortunately, I had let my practice slip for a couple of years and I really felt it. I recently started practising it again and it really does make a difference to your mental health!!
Another great Kundalini channel!!
Kimilla’s videos tend to be a bit longer and perfect if you are looking for a challenge. Not only is she gorgeous, but most of her videos are also done in front of the beautiful scenery of Byron Bay!
She has an amazing 10 day Transformation playlist, you can access below!
