The Dirty Little Secrets Of The Online Business Industry

Laura Blog

It’s taken over the internet, messages, adverts and promises of changing your life and becoming super rich, super-fast, all you have to do is set up an online business…..oh and “invest loads of money to be able to do it”

My Facebook feed is filled with ad after ad from online “gurus” telling me if I sign up or buy their program I’ll be successful and make 6 figures in 6 months!

The problem with this is so many untrained people are trying to train others how to make money by teaching others to make money!

It’s all the same BS

No substance, just a load of motivational words that make you feel that it might just be possible to change your whole life with little effort, it sounds so easy.

But life (and business) is not easy.

Things take time to grow; life isn’t about getting to the destination as fast as you can.

How do I know this?

For 3 years I believed the hype. I set up a “business”, trained as a life coach and paid shit loads of money for a shitty coach.

I later found out that my so called expert coach was a con artist, who ripped off loads of women.

She told me to I had to become a business coach to make money but I had no idea how to run a business, so how could I coach other on how to do it??

None of it felt right.

I didn’t want to start a business just to help others make loads of money, I wanted to help people, people like me who don’t feel confident and have low self-worth.

It just felt icky, like some “get rich quick scheme”.

And that’s what I see everywhere. People trying to sell get rich quick courses.

Of course there are some real genuine experts out there, who have worked really hard to get where they are and know what they are talking about.

But mostly it’s filled with untrained people telling you how good their lives are and if you just give them money your life could be as good as theirs too.

So what did I do with my coach?? I fired her of course, when she told me my personal profile picture wasn’t “pretty” enough and I should change it. All she ever did was try to mould me into something I’m not.

She tried to get me to pay for the next 6 months, that was never gonna happen, by her promise I should have been making 6 figures by now, I was making nothing!!

The biggest thing I’ve learned was this, if people are trying to sell you big promises that seem too good to be true, it probably is.

So be careful what you buy into, ask yourself “is this going to get me the results I want or can I create success on my own?”

Take your time to get to know someone before you give them your hard earned cash, do your research, ask their other clients what real results they have got and never rush into hiring a coach!!

I’m now taking the long road and going back to college to train as a Psychologist. I want to help people who have been through trauma and it would be dangerous to do this without proper training.

It may take me 4 years but I can’t wait and I’m going to enjoy the whole journey.

Let me know in the comments if you have ever had a bad experience with a coach or expert or bought loads of courses but felt like they got you nowhere.

Big love
